Rose Drive Friends Church is Seeking a Full-Time Lead Pastor
Rose Drive Friends Church (RDF) is an evangelical, Bible–teaching church located in Yorba Linda, California. Having begun in 1963, RDFC has had a rich past, and promises of a bright future. Rose Drive currently holds three worship services (one Saturday night and two Sunday morning). Current weekend attendance is approximately 1,000. Rose Drive has strong children’s, youth, music, and missions ministries. We are blessed with an abundance of buildings and share facilities with one of our core ministries, Friends Christian School http://www.friendschristian.org/.
Position Purpose
Our Lead Pastor will lead the congregation and staff of Rose Drive with wisdom, depth, and spiritual authority, using God-given gifts to foster authentic worship, sacrificial living, and deep connections in order to significantly impact North Orange County, the southwestern United States, and the world. The RDF environment is creative, generous, and innovative with a great expectation of God’s word bearing fruit in the future. The Lead Pastor will oversee a staff that includes a teaching pastor in the future.

Essential Functions
The Lead Pastor’s primary duties consist of the following:
ü Lead RDFC with spiritual authority including prayer and discernment
ü Attract, train, coach, and multiply leaders
ü Develop, cast, and communicate vision and values
ü Insure that RDFC accomplishes its mission of authentic worship, sacrificial living, and deep connections
Necessary Skill
Our ideal Lead Pastor would possess or demonstrate these types of skills:
ü Exceptional leadership skills exercised in the context of relationship building
ü The ability to build ownership of the core vision of RDFC
ü The ability to motivate commitment to evangelism/church planting here and around the world
ü Effectiveness as a teacher of the Word of God both in formal and informal contexts
Additional Job Expectations
RDFC would expect the following from our Lead Pastor:
ü Submission to the Lord, Ministry and Counsel/Elder Board of Rose Drive Friends Church, and Faith and Practice as stated by Evangelical Friends Church Southwest (EFCSW)
ü Worship at RDFC on a regular basis (family included) including a commitment to live near the church to enhance his/her sphere of influence
ü Attain (or will attain) Recording as a Friends Minister under EFCSW and maintain a vital relationship with the denomination and affiliated churches
ü Undergo a regular ministry assessment with the RDFC Elder Board
Necessary Qualifications
Our ideal Lead Pastor would possess, demonstrate or hold to these:
ü A statement of faith and practice as prescribed by Evangelical Friends Church Southwest http://friendschurchsw.org/faithpractice_overview.html
ü Core and Ministry Values set forth by Rose Drive Friends Church http://rdf.org/index.php/about-us
ü At least seven years of ministry experience, including a leadership role in a church of over 500
ü A seminary degree, Masters or above from an accredited evangelical institution; under certain circumstances, an equivalent combination of education and proven experience may be considered
ü Understanding and passionate support of Christian education
ü Proven track record of effective leadership
