Pastor Search Update: "We have received over 100 resumes to date!!! The search committee is in the process of reviewing each resume received and developing a strong pool of candidates that will move forward in the process. We will continue to receive resumes through the end of Februarywith the progress to date, the unity of the committee, and the clarity of the process. Thank you for your prayers and consideration in this process!"
1. Job Description
The first task of the search committee is creating the job description. This task requires a lot of discussion and prayer. The job description gives potential candidates a better idea of what we as a church are looking for in a lead pastor. To see the final job description, click here.
2. Get the Word Out
The next step in the process is getting the word out to, not only the local community, but to any potential applicants worldwide. To do this we will use a number of different websites specifically designed to help pastors and churches find each other; such as churchjobfinder.com. If you have any person or persons in mind for the position, have them email their resume to our search committee at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
3. Filter Applicants
As the applications and resumes come in they will be filtered. There will be a number of different filters for applicants. Any standout applicants will be asked to fill out a more in-depth application. Next, the committee will call references and conduct phone interviews. Extensive in-person interviews will be given to remaining candidates.
4. Final Approval
Once the search committee has narrowed the candidates down to two or three names, they will present those names to the elder board in order of preference. The Ministry and Counsel/Elder board will then interview the remaining candidates and present their recommendation to the congregation for final approval.
