The Radcliffs are serving in Cambodia. Robert and Sarah came to us by way of Iowa Yearly Meeting and served in Long Beach, CA with the Khmer in the area before leaving for Cambodia in 2016. They spent over a year working with Long Beach Friends, language and culture learning, and preparing for life in Cambodia.
Both Robert and Sarah were called to missions long before they met. Robert has a diverse background, including service in the US Army and a degree in Sociology; Sarah is a nurse (BSN-RN).
The Radcliffs love the company of good friends and good jokes, as well as being outdoors—hiking and backpacking.
Here is a recent testimony from the Radcliffs:
“As part of our language progression, we, Sarah and I, have begun to travel with Scott to teach ONE point of a Bible study each week with a family of new believers. This last week, I shared how the blood of Christ cleanses us from sin.
“For me, one of the most difficult parts of transitioning to Cambodia has been my inability to communicate the Truths of God in my early language-learning journey. My soul has longed for ways to express the deep love we have for God, and lead others to worship him. I went home (to U.S.) in January to bury my father. In that, I feared that I would find myself in a place where I could again share the gospel in a language I knew well, and that I wouldn’t want to return to Cambodia. I feared walking away from the ministry God has called me to, in which I have currently been ineffective, and seizing an opportunity to re-establish myself in a more comfortable ministry setting.
“In the months before coming to Cambodia, I shared nearly 90 times, with different churches and groups, to thousands of people. Now, we have spent 40+ hours a week, for the last year and a half, to come to this: an opportunity to share ONE point in a Bible study with 3 believers. My soul rejoices. Those 4 or 5 paragraphs on the Blood of Christ ministered more to me than to the Cambodians. I have found myself sustained this week, through this incredible opportunity to share God’s word with God’s people.”
