Roy and Jinky Twadell

Organization: Evangelical Friends Mission

Location: Philippines

Email: rtwaddell@icloud.com

Roy and Jinky have been called to take the Good News to people from the Middle East. Because of their efforts, many unreached people heard the gospel, churches were planted, and leaders were trained in Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

Today, with a continuing need for more workers in the Middle East and Asia, the Twaddells are concentrating their efforts on training. In cooperation with Evangelical Friends Mission, and Philippines Evangelical Friends International Ministries, Roy and Jinky assist local communities to plant churches among people from Middle East countries and the Philippines. After churches have been established within those communities, the Twaddells recruit, encourage, train, and send out workers locally as well as internationally. The Twaddells continue to provide training and logistical support for leaders in Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

“From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” Psalm 113:3

Recent update and prayer request from Roy:

“Greetings Prayer Warriors

August has seen some of the worst Monsoon Rains in years. 3 weeks ago, Jinky got trapped in Olongapo due to flooding. Her parents and thousands of others had knee- deep water or higher in their homes.

This past week, Metro Manila saw flood levels that flooded thousands of homes again in the city forcing up to 20,000 to evacuate. Two of our churches were flooded, although not as bad as Olongapo. However, it cut off huge swaths of the city, isolating people, including us, from travel.

Currently the rains have stopped, but the mud and garbage now need to be cleaned up.

Please prayer for Pastor Cris and Roy as they travel to Palawan (August 16-20) for our semi annual leadership training, fellowship and encouragement of our Churches. This visit will have Ptr Cris traveling to Sicud (Southern Palawan) and Pastor Roy going Mid-Island to Tabon, Quezon Province. Pastor Cris and Roy will be teaching on the new Faith and Practice materials and our Distance Leadership Training Program (DLTP). Roy will also spent significant time with Pastor Rannie, who is already enrolled in the DLTP. We will travel together to Roy’s drop off location, where I will stay with our Tabon Evangelical Friends Church Family.

***One note of concern: The Philippines and most Embassies here have issued a travel advisory about kidnap treats from Abu Sayaf on Palawan. This is aimed mostly at Tourist sites. Yet the threat is real and we need the extra prayer for safety.***

In Christ’s Service Together
Roy and Jinky”
