The Upward Sports Leagues at Rose Drive Friends Church are for all families seeking a league that develops the total athlete Mentally, Athletically, Spiritually, and Socially. Upward Sports athletes grow in character, confidence, faith, and sportsmanship. We strive to promote and teach good sportsmanship and teamwork. Upward Basketball
For 1st-6th Grade Boys and 1st-7th Grade Girls
The winter ’24-’25 season will include 10 weeks of practice with 8 games. No experience is necessary! All teams will practice and play games in the Rose Drive Friends Gymnasium (4221 Rose Drive, YL).
Cost:
$215 for early bird registration (9/1 – 9/30/24), $230 for regular registration, until full
Cost includes 10 weeks of one-hour gym practice, 8 games, reversible uniform, MemoryMate photo, and an end of season gift.
Divisions: Teams will be limited to ten players. Please note that registration numbers will determine final grade division make-up. Limited spots will be available until sold out. Register early as multiple divisions sold out last year.

Practices: Weekly, one-hour practices will begin the week of Monday, December 2, through the week of Monday, February 17, (off two weeks for Christmas – off the weeks of December 16 and 23.) Practices will resume 12/30/24. Practices could be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday from 5:30-6:30 PM, 6:30-7:30 PM, or 7:30-8:30 PM. Practices are once a week and include a half-time break for the team to come together and share a devotional. You may choose one day of the week that does not work for your schedule during registration.
Games: Eight weekly, one-hour Saturday games will be played January 4, 2025 – February 22, 2025. All one-hour games are on Saturdays, ranging from 8 AM to 6 PM, and include a half-time devotional.
Evaluation Day: Please mark your calendar for Saturday, November 2, (see grade level schedule below) in the Rose Drive Friends Church gymnasium. Evaluation Day is for skill assessment and uniform size confirmation. Please do your best to attend Evaluation Day sometime during your grade-level window and plan on approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on how busy the gym is at that time. • 3rd/4th graders: 10:30 AM-12:30 PM
• 5th/6th/7th graders: 12:30-2:30 PM
If you cannot make your designated time, please come anytime during Evaluation Day that is convenient for you. Please note that your wait time may be longer. The beginning of the day and beginning of each time slot are generally very impacted; you may likely wait less if you come slightly later.
Picture Day: Saturday, January 11, one hour prior to your game time. Details to be shared soon! One MemoryMate photo is included in your registration fee.

Referees: Anyone Jr High-age or older is welcome to help referee. This is a great opportunity for high schoolers looking to fulfill community service hours. All training and equipment are provided. Upward Indoor Volleyball – Watch for Spring 2025 details

This Coed league is for 5th-9th Grade Boys and Girls.
The spring season will include 8 weeks of practice with 6 games. No experience is necessary! All teams will practice and play games in the Rose Drive Friends Gymnasium (4221 Rose Drive, YL).
Cost: $175 for early bird registration (through January 31), $205 for regular registration (February 1-17). Registration fee includes uniform (jersey and shorts), practice volleyball and season poster.
Divisions: (Teams are limited to 8 players)

Thursdays: 6-7, 7-8 PM
Games: Six weekly, one-hour Saturday games will be played April 13-May 18 inside the Rose Drive Friends Church gym.

• Junior coaches are also needed. Junior coaches work alongside and under experienced parent coaches. Duties may include working individually with a player, helping to run small groups under the guidance of a coach or director and encouraging the overall success of the team.
